Chapter 33: Declaration of War
Now it’s recess after first period.
We went back to the classroom.
As I expected, Mr. Hashimoto, who is a massive onlooker, was waiting for us.
Ms. Hashimoto’s eyes sparkled at the entrance of the classroom.
“You skipped class after all, didn’t you? What were you two doing?
Me and Suikoto-san looked at each other.
We need to do what we’re supposed to do.
“Akibara-kun is mine now.”
Suikin-san said it casually, but it had a great effect.
The people around me who had been listening to the conversation started to murmur. Hashimoto-san said, and his eyes grew brighter and brighter.
“Does that mean that the two of you have really done something forbidden?”
Suqin-san’s face turned red and her eyes were downcast in embarrassment.
That’s not what I meant. It’s that Akibara-kun became my boyfriend.
“So Suikoto-san really likes Akihara after all?”
“Yeah. So… I confessed my feelings to him, and he accepted me.
It’s just an act.
It was to give Hashimoto-san what he and the others wanted and to avoid any more questions.
Hashimoto-san asks me this time.
“You did it, Akihara! You’ve got the best girlfriend!”
“… I agree. I think you’re too good for me.”
I mean it.
Suikoto-san is a beautiful girl with silver hair and blue eyes. She’s so conspicuous that she’s called a goddess.
But what’s more important is that she’s a very kind girl.
A good portion of the class stood up at once, all with smiling faces.
And he clapped his hands.
I don’t know what it is, but they’re celebrating.
I think everyone’s got time on their hands.
Well, some of our classmates were indifferent or gave us unfriendly looks.
One of them was Kaho.
Kaho is staring at me with a completely blank expression on her face.
I felt a chill run down my spine.
Kaho basically always has a cheerful and charming expression on her face.
Of course she was angry at times, but even when she was angry, she would stare at me with her cheeks puffed out in emotion, and that was cute.
But the Kaho I saw now was something I’d never seen before.
“Right, Kaho? Is it okay for Kaho to get Akihara?”
“It’s… It’s not my problem.
But we’ve known each other since childhood. You and Akihara used to go home together. If Suikoto-san becomes Akihara’s girlfriend, you won’t be able to do those things, right?”
Hashimoto-san smiled at me.
Hashimoto-san doesn’t know that Kaho dumped me.
That’s why I’m going to tell Natsuho this.
Either way, I don’t know what Hashimoto-san wants to do in front of everyone.
Kaho glared at Hashimoto-san with cold eyes, but Hashimoto-san didn’t move at all.
“Because, I thought Kaho liked Akihara too. Didn’t you? The way Kaho looks at Akihara…
Mr. Hashimoto couldn’t finish his sentence.
She got up, tapping her desk.
Kaho was packed off to Hashimoto-san’s.
“Don’t talk nonsense! Who the hell do you think you are, Hashimoto-san? Making fun of Haruto and the others and dragging me into it? Stop it! I don’t give a damn about you!”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d be so angry. But the way you just said it, I can’t believe you didn’t think so. But…”
Hashimoto-san was about to continue, but he kept quiet.
Because Kaho was staring at Hashimoto-san with eyes full of hatred.
Hashimoto-san gave a tight smile, apologized to Kaho once more, and turned back to us.
The class was silent.
I didn’t see that coming.
I think Kaho was just angry at Hashimoto-san for being so insensitive, but I wonder how the other classmates will take it.
I looked up again.
It was Hashimoto-san who started it all.
Mr. Hashimoto is a troublemaker who doesn’t read the atmosphere and stirs things up with his curiosity.
It hurts when my classmates look at me.
This makes it sound like I dumped Kaho and went out with Suikoto even though she likes me.
It’s actually quite different.
Hashimoto-san comes back and whispers in my ear.
It’s hard being a popular guy.
I don’t think I’ve ever been popular.
Kaho dumped me, and it’s not like I’m the opposite sex.
Suikoto says she likes me, but it’s just an act.
No matter how friendly she acts towards me, I don’t think it means she likes me as a member of the opposite sex.
Just like how Kaho was completely unaware of me no matter how close we were.
Don’t make the same mistake again.
And Yuki seems to like me, but the way she likes me is twisted.
Suqin looked at me and said quietly.
Akibara-kun. I told you… I said I wouldn’t give you to Mr. Sasaki.
Yeah, but what?
Hey, remember that.
I nodded vaguely.
Hashimoto-san says in a small voice happily.
“So Kaho is Suikoto-san’s rival.”
The actual situation is quite different from what you think.
Suikoto-san looked at me and Hashimoto-san and smiled softly.
“Yeah. I think this is probably a declaration of war.
