I Was Reincarnated As The Older Brother Of A Villainess Destined to Die, So I Want To Change The Future By Raising My Younger Sister With My Own Hands – Volume 3 – Chapter 5 – Part 3

The scene was deadlocked. As I had predicted the knights I had sent to guard him were protecting him. Karon, Theon, and the knights are all unharmed and are staring at Gray who attacked them.

Gray, on the other hand, was frowning in annoyance, probably because things didn’t turn out the way he had hoped.

However, other than that, the results were slightly different from what I had expected.

The corridor leading to the hall where we are now had barely collapsed despite the loud explosion. There’s fire scattered around Gray and cracks running along the corners of the walls, but the Karon side isn’t damaged in the slightest.

The cause was obvious. Kalon’s side is protected by a golden translucent curtain of light magic. I could guess that it caught the earlier explosion and killed it perfectly.

It goes without saying, we’ve set up a perimeter. Karon had a look of determination on his face… as if to say “I’ll never let anyone hurt you again!” He had a look of determination on his face.

He must have been really upset about what happened to Curtis. I could clearly see that he was determined not to make the same mistake.

At first glance it looks like Karon is being escorted to the very back, but in reality she’s the one who’s been protecting them all.

Really… Really, Karon’s grown up.

I’m filled with emotion.

Because of his past failures, instead of being afraid that his friends would get hurt… he sought the strength to protect them in any situation. The result is what you see now. Her determined expression and the way she protects her comrades with the magic power that matches her face are as wonderful as the name “Saintess of the Sunlight”.

However, there was someone who interfered with the climax of the film. Naturally, it was Gray who took hostile action.

“What’s with the defiant look? I’m royalty. Who do you think you are to look at me like that?

He rants, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

It was a lousy way of putting it, but before Kalon could retort, Gray continued to speak in rapid succession.

“I hit them with my maximum firepower and you’re cool with it! Don’t get cocky! Damn, that’s why I hated blondes. All that “I’m not like her” crap… I listened to your little fantasy that I’d listen to you if you hit me once, and this is what I got. The way you look at me like I’m an idiot, it doesn’t make any difference. Damn it, damn it! You’re my fiancee, you’re supposed to obey me!”

Gray’s line was no longer directed at Kalon and the others. It was envy of that woman inside him.

The concerns I had when we first met were coming true. Gray didn’t look at Carron at all. From the first moment he saw him, he was jealous and angry with his own reflection.

Caron gives him a look of pity.

I don’t know who you think I am, but I’ll tell you this. I will not bow to you. I will not allow your wrath to fall on me or on anything I hold dear.

“What? Cheeky! Your eyes, they drive me mad! Don’t look at me with those pitying eyes. I’m not inferior to be looked at like that!

Gray is frightened by the look of power in his eyes, but he quickly regains his composure. Karon’s eyes seem to have struck a nerve with him and he lets out an angry cry, his eyes bloodshot. Then he begins to put magic into his right hand as if he is going to attack again.

Any more static and you’re in the wrong place.

I’m running out of patience and decide to go to the front.

But before that, someone jumped into the whirlpool.

Are you all right, Your Highness?

It was Count Becca, Grey’s chaperone. Some of the knights follow.

This is gonna take a nasty turn.

I raised an eyebrow at that.

Sure enough, Becca makes some crazy comment.

“Caroline… How dare you attack my Highness!

Karon gasped in astonishment, and those around him, including Zion, gasped as well.

I was surprised myself. I’ve been sensing trouble, but I didn’t know if it was gonna come that way. My fists are shaking with anger.

“I have not attacked Mr. Gray! On the contrary. You attacked me and I stopped you.

“That’s strange. From what I can see, his Highness’ side is badly damaged. It looks to me as if you were the aggressor.

“So I’m telling you. I prevented the attack with the wards I still have in place!

I’m not sure if that magic is warding or not. Isn’t it just a fake attack magic?

Kalon tried hard to explain but Becca wouldn’t listen to him. In fact even the knights who had rushed to the scene with her began to denounce her. The Gray camp is blaming Kalon for this incident. Therefore their excuses were meaningless.

And what’s disgusting about Becca is that she can’t quite dismiss his statements as out of line. At first glance, the attacker could be mistaken for Gray. And without any knowledge of light magic we can’t be sure that Karon’s magic was a ward.

It doesn’t matter if it’s true or false. It’s how Becca sees it that matters to the crown.

I’m so angry. I can’t help but be deeply pissed off at these guys who’re so brazenly accusing Karon because they think we’ve accepted their engagement quietly.

I feel a burning sensation in the pit of my stomach. The back of my head tightens and I can’t help but scrutinize my eyes.

I exhale to release the heat in my body.

And we’ll take a step towards them–

Suddenly, there’s a grip on my shoulder.

I turn around. Minerva was standing there.

I think you’re being a little overzealous.

I couldn’t argue with that. It was true that I’d been so focused on Kalon and the others that I’d neglected to detect them.

You’re a fool if you didn’t see it before it grabbed you by the shoulder. If it had been the enemy, I’d be dead.
